WTA Rankings After French Open 2026: Mirra Andreeva Reaches Career-High No. 6 After Grand Slam Triumph

Mirra Andreeva Climbs to Career-High No. 6

Russian teenager Mirra Andreeva enjoyed a breakthrough moment at Roland Garros.

The 19-year-old defeated Maja Chwalinska 6-3, 6-2 in the French Open final to secure her maiden Grand Slam singles title. The victory earned Andreeva two ranking spots, lifting her from No. 8 to World No. 6.

Her impressive run in Paris further confirms her status as one of the brightest young talents in women’s tennis.

Maja Chwalinska Makes Historic Ranking Jump

Although she finished runner-up, Maja Chwalinska was one of the biggest winners in this week’s rankings.

The Polish star became only the second qualifier in history to reach a Grand Slam women’s singles final. Thanks to her remarkable French Open campaign, Chwalinska jumped 93 places to a career-best World No. 21.

Her performance was one of the biggest surprises of the tournament.

Sabalenka Remains World No. 1

At the top of the rankings, Aryna Sabalenka continues to lead the WTA Tour.

The Belarusian remains comfortably ahead of her closest rivals with 9,990 ranking points. Elena Rybakina stays at No. 2, while Iga Swiatek holds on to the No. 3 position.

Despite strong competition throughout the clay-court season, the top three positions remain unchanged.

Coco Gauff Falls Out of the Top 5

One of the biggest ranking changes involves Coco Gauff.

The American dropped three positions to World No. 7 after failing to make a deep run at Roland Garros. As a result, Jessica Pegula and Amanda Anisimova both moved up one place.

Gauff will now look to bounce back during the upcoming grass-court season.
